Corinthian Cup

The Corinthian Cup is a small race taking boats from Marina del Rey down to King Harbor for a party and BBQ before racing back the following day.
It has become a tradition for the Open 5.70 fleet to do the race single handed. With only a few marks to round and long legs the race format is ideally suited to the solo sailor.
Jerome Sammarcelli was racing on "Semi Aquatic" and sailing single handed for the first time was Tracey Kenney on "Hat Trick". The conditions were perfect for the Open 5.70 - just enough to have fun without being too overpowered - especially considering the missing crew weight.
Overall the Open 5.70s held their own in a fleet of much larger, fully crewed boats. Jerome finished 2nd on Saturday and 4th on Sunday giving him 3rd overall.
